You Need to Read This

Hello Everybody, Frank here.

Yesterday Patrice Lewis of Rural Revolution posted her weekly article at WND, World Net Daily. I enjoy reading Patrice, whether she's talking about canning corn or planting a tire garden, she always has something thought provoking and entertaining. But her WND article this week struck a cord, and I'm going to encourage you to read it, then I'm going to encourage you to read it again. Her last sentence summed up the entire thought quite well.

Ladies and gentlemen, we as a society, our big boat is taking on water, and most of us are not going to survive. If you have a family, then it is your responsibility to prepare for whatever comes. When you decided to have kids, they are now your responsibility. Not the government, but you. If you take on the responsibility of aging parents, same rules apply here. You, not the government, are responsible for their well being. I am responsible for my immediate surroundings, and you are responsible for yours.

Please read the article by Patrice Lewis, because our ship is taking on water.

We'll talk more later, Frank.

  1. We as a people must become PRO-ACTIVE instead of RE-ACTIVE. It never ceases to amaze me, how what was considered organized, or well thought out back in "the day" is considered OCD now. The Man and I are both very often accused of being OCD when that is, in fact, a serious mental illness. Just because we like to fold the clothes when they are dry and put them in the dressers and closet where they belong instead of dressing out of the dryer doesn't mean we are obsessive. Just because we like to plan our meals and plan our day and know what we are going to do, doesn't mean we are obsessive.

I read a quote once that said "Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated" We don't like surprises. I want to be prepared.

As you said, first and foremost we trust in the Lord God. I know He's got this in hand, and He is never surprised. Then we try to have a plan at all times. Is it possible to plan for everything? Of course not. But when you have the mindset of a planner, I think you are able to react and formulate a plan much quicker than a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of person. We try to teach The Youngun to always know what you are going to do, no matter if it's driving on the interstate, or standing in the grocery line, be aware of your surroundings and have a plan!

    1. Very interesting perspective, Goodwife. We also don't like surprises and try to be prepared. It's not always possible, but we do like to plan and make sure we have what we need. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Anyone who wants to know can look at our country and see the decline. The question is how long will that be until the crash, and then what. I so agree that the Lord must be first in our lives, "thy kingdom done thy will be done here on earth as it is in heaven". Our message is a positive one. God's kingdom rising from the ashes of the old.

We need always to remember all that is positive, joyful, etc. We need to laugh, love and embrace our families and friends, because that is what this kingdom of God is like. We give it all for God and love our neighbor as ourselves. We receive what life is supposed to be like from God and not the corruption around us. We have a much higher calling to life than most of us have imagined. So go live your life. Remember the stories of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, David an others. Remember we are to be as the Lion as well as the Lamb.
