Radio Post Delayed Due to Bad Weather

10:00 am Friday, December 6th

My Saturday edition of radio communications has been preempted by severe weather. I try to post Saturday evenings, but today is just not the day. There are no disasters here, it's just not a good afternoon for a radio post. As a general rule I don't post on Sunday's but church has been canceled tomorrow due to weather conditions and I will try to post in the morning.

The topic for this week's radio post is recommendations for beginners. Please go to the Universal Radio website, click the online catalog box, when it opens in the top right column is HF, VHF/UHF and Ht's. Please look around here. Tomorrow I'll tell you what I think about entry level/beginner/first time radios and radio operators.

See you tomorrow.

We'll talk more later. 73, Frank

P.S. Here in southeast Oklahoma we have had unusual weather. It's been bitter cold and all levels of precipitation - rain, sleet, snow and freezing rain have been falling from the sky for a couple of days now. So, please pray for all those that are working in this: the power line workers, emergency personnel, and those seldom recognized folks that sell us our potato chips and ice cream behind the counter. These folks drive to work so we can have the things we do. There's a lot of cold old folks out there, too. Please check on them. It means a great deal to feel wanted. If you're in this area or in this storm, don't forget your pets and livestock. It's rough on them too. Thank you.

  1. Are you going to introduce your readers to VOIP systems such as ECHOLINK? As another back up comm option. Thanks, Tim

    1. Tim, thank you, that is an excellent idea. At this time, I'm just covering entry level material. Maybe in the future. Excellent idea, though. All input is appreciated and thank you for reading.
