The best crop we have ever had was the wild blackberries this year that we had nothing to do with!

FernFrank and Fernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15570058990887565563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7003348645601520194.post-59682965635768719462014-07-24T08:25:13.504-05:002014-07-24T08:25:13.504-05:00Mary, thanks to you, we now drink our kefir with h...Mary, thanks to you, we now drink our kefir with honey, ginger and cinnamon. It's good. It kind of reminds me of the winter squash pie we make. This means we have increased our daily intake of good, natural medicine. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Fern
Frank and Fernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15570058990887565563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7003348645601520194.post-34494792640789731692014-07-23T18:34:28.871-05:002014-07-23T18:34:28.871-05:00Off to beat the plum trees! :) I'm new to gr...Off to beat the plum trees! :) I'm new to growing plums so as you say, 'it's a learning experience'. Last year, one measly plum off of two trees. This year we have way more pollinators on the property and still no plums. We did prune them back early early in the spring, maybe it was the wrong time or we did the pruning wrong, too much water, not enough water, not enough fertility in the soil. So much to learn! Always more to know and understand. I'm just glad it worked! Now it's back to normal. Didn't realize until recently just how super blueberries are for health. For a little "zing" I sometimes toss in some frozen or dehydrated cranberries. They wake up your taste buds!
~~Mary
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7003348645601520194.post-81970183296731184402014-07-14T13:19:25.378-05:002014-07-14T13:19:25.378-05:00I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, Mar...I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, Mary! We seldom have blueberries, but the honey, cinnamon and ginger sound very good, and they are great for inflammation. Another way to ingest some good 'medicine' everyday. Thank you for the idea and best wishes. Or maybe a bit of juice from something he likes?
I pulp banana's into a thick liquid with my hand blender then add a small amount of Brown sugar and then add that to plain Kefir that we buy.
